Director: Michel Hazanavicius
Writer: Jean Bruce, Jean-François Halin, Michel Hazanavicius
Studio: Music Box Films
Genre: Adventure, Comedy
Runtime: 1 hour 41 minutes

“Lost in Rio” is an outstanding comedy perfectly directed by Michel Hazanavicius, which continues the story about a superhero called OSS 117 (Jean Dujardin). This is a secret number of Hubert Bonisseur - a French spy, whose main goal is to find a Nazi of a very high rank. It is the year 1967. Having performed his mission in Cairo, the brave hero is ready to cross the ocean in order to reach the Nazi blackmailer somewhere in the South America. OSS 117 has to travel across Brazil and further to Rio de Janeiro in the company of Mossad agent, who has her own reasons to find the Nazi in question. Played by charming Louise Monot, the young woman arouses strong feelings in the heart of Hubert Bonisseur. Their adventure through the forests of Amazonia, deep grottos, waterfalls and other picturesque landscapes of the South America becomes also a great love adventure.
“Lost in Rio” as well as the other films of Hazanavicius is a humorous reinterpretation of the films dedicated to the period, coming next to WWII. Being a big fan of the movies of that time, the director brings a satirical note to his characters and the events of his films. The political incorrectness of OSS 117 looks especially shocking and ironically throughout all the comedy, as well as the other scenes, full of irrepressible humor.
