The main idea of the plot touches upon the meeting of five former high school students, who haven’t seen each other for about thirty years. Their reunion is planned for the 4th of July and is connected with the recent passing of their basketball trainer. The teammates in their childhood gather now to honor the dead coach and say him the last farewell.

Thirty years later all of them changed a lot, got married and became the fathers of their children. The only thing that seems to have remained unchanged since that time is their behavior. Together in the house nearby a lake, where they celebrated the championship of their own long ago, the friends are about to return to the times, when they were teenagers. So-called “Grown Ups” are going to have as much fun there as possible. Anyway, there is a child inside of each of us, and “Grown Ups” is a good example of how this child manifests himself, when he meets with another “children” like that, who are not only your old friends from your childhood, but also your kindred spirits.
