The film directed by acclaimed Woody Allen is a dramatic story of two unhappily married couples. Alfie and Helena experience hard times in their married life. One day Alfie gets infatuated by a young and light-hearted girl called Charmaine and leaves home and his wife for her. Being not able to take the betrayal of her husband, Helena run to another extreme, when hands her life over to a charlatan fortune teller and her loopy advice. Her daughter Sally and her husband Roy are also unhappy in their marriage. Sally takes a fancy to her clever and attractive boss Greg, the owner of an art gallery. Meanwhile her husband Roy, who is a novelist by profession, is nervous about a response to his latest work, and becomes crazy about a mysterious woman called Dia, with whom he exchanges glances through the windows.
The characters of the film try to escape problems by dreaming and making unrealizable and irrational plans, but all their efforts fail and cause only more troubles, anxiety and heartache.
The film stars Anthony Hopkins in the role of Alfie; Gemma Jones as Helena; Lucy Punch as Charmaine; Josh Brolin as Roy; Freida Pinto as Dia; Antonio Banderas in the role of Greg; and Naomi Watts as Sally.
