“Heartbreaker”, directed by Pascal Chaumeil, is a breathtaking movie, blending romance and comedy. Genteel Romain Duris, starring in the title role, skillfully portrays French professional Casanova called Alex, who is engaged in a business of his own. This is a rather specific job, he does. His clients are jealous lovers, envious friends, or the families, anxious about their children’s dating. The task of Alex in these cases is to break up the unfavorable or undesirable relationships. He is not alone in this sort of business: the sister of Alex, Melanie, helps her brother to break up couples. But both have certain principles in their work. They do not interfere in the lives of happy partners, breaking up only the unhappy ones.

Nevertheless, the last work of Alex stands against their principles. The business is slow, and he is ears in debt. Hired by wealthy M. Van Der Bercq, he has to destroy his daughter’s happy relations with her boyfriend. According to his client’s desire, Don Juan has only one week to keep charming Juliette, played by Vanessa Paradis, from marriage. But the thing is that Juliette is absolutely in love with her chosen one… The heartbreaker faces quite a serious problem to be solved asap…
