“City Island” is a smart and amusing story of a family, each member of which has its own secrets. The funniest in this tale is that all the secrets seem to be connected with each other this or that way. Vince Rizzo (Andy Garcia) - an actor and a guard, has been enough careless, when revealed accidentally his greatest secret. And all this had grave consequences. His life and the life of the family turned at once into absolute chaos.

Vince made it a rule to conceal something from his family. But the truth can't be concealed forever. Moreover, he has suddenly come to a conclusion, proved by facts, that all his close and beloved ones has and keep their own secrets. This is equally fair to his quick-tempered wife (Julianna Margulies), his daughter (Dominik Garcia-Lorido), his ex-convict son (Steven Strait), his acting partner (Emily Mortimer) and his drama coach (Alan Arkin) – all of them have secrets.

The comedy was set on City Island, Bronx surroundings. The question “City Island” asks is: why is it so necessary to conceal the true, when it costs much more than to be a truthful man? Intrigues in this comedy are often based on such absurd things, that one can’t help smiling at the foolishness of the situation and people’s behavior in this situation.
