The hero of the film “Greenberg” Roger Greenberg (Ben Stiller) has lost the job. This distressing news has changed his life immensely. Totally loosing the thread of life, Roger is to find the sense of it and revive the zest for life.

Leaving New York, Roger comes back to Los-Angeles. Here in his native town where he was grown, Greenberg tries to find the ray of hope and happiness. Looking for his friends from the childhood, the hero perceives though, that they will not lend a helping hand to him. Moreover, their friendship is questionable. Even Ivan, his old band mate is not going to help Roger. Full in despair, Greenberg stays with his younger brother and his family. Unemployed Roger has nothing now but the brother’s house he looks after.

The most of the people in Los-Angeles do not understand inactive downcast Roger, who is not going to find the job and lives with his brother. There is only one person in the world who accepts unlucky Roger as he is. Familiar with Roger’s state, the personal helpmate of Roger’s brother, Florence (Greta Gerwig) is his savior. Two soul mates find each other and reunite with the mutual desire to be understood and helped. The main life target for them to find is real happiness and support.
