“Dinner for Schmucks” is a story of a man called Tim, who tries to succeed in his career. There are many ways of how to do that, but for Tim’s boss the most effective way is the most extraordinary one. Every year the boss celebrates one and the same holiday, invented by himself. This is a dinner for idiots. That executive, who brings the most eccentric guest to the dinner, will win the best prize.
Tim, who has received the invitation to this show, is almost ready to get rid of the idea to take part in this sort of idiotism, as he is absolutely agree with his girlfriend Julie – that’s not funny. But all of a sudden he comes across Barry. Barry is a man, who has a very strange hobby – taxidermy. He uses stuffed mice to make outstanding scenes - real masterpieces, whose main heroes are mice dressed in appropriate costumes.
The appearance of this guest on the annual dinner is really unforgettable. But Tim’s decision to bring Barry to the dinner costs him lots of troubles - as in his career, so in his private life.
The great piece of work, offered by filmmaker Jay Roach, the comedy is full of people’s freaks and comic moments. Starring in the film are Steve Carell, Bruce Greenwood, Paul Rudd and Jemaine Clement.
