The film “Our Family Wedding” produced by Fox Searchlight Pictures, presents a story about two people who love each other and are going to marry. The fiancée is Lucia (America Ferrera) and the fiancé is Marcus (Lance Gross). They are terribly happy together and are already planning their marriage. Being together, the beloved see the world around them and everything through rose-coloured glasses, until their relatives and other people, someway troubled by their relations, make their life unbearable and complicated.
Lucia and Marcus come to a conclusion, that their fathers will not give them to live quiet and do everything possible to break the engagement. Besides the ones, who stand up against their marriage, fortunately there are people, who support and help Lucia and Marcus, and Lucia’s mother is among them.
But the debates and disputes grow so hot, that the future newlyweds realise it perfectly well: their interests will never fit the interests of their relatives. The young couple has to solve all the problems by themselves, and thanks to all these difficulties they come through, they become strong as never before. The heroes perceive what it means to be together for better or worse.
